Next week from March 10th to 18th I’ll be in Austin, Texas, to attend to SXSW! I’ll be a speaker in Tech Summit event March 17th at 11am. We will talk about Italy and technology.
See You there?
Paris was my last stop of my february travelling around the world. It has been a relaxing weekend walking, shopping, eating, drinking and chatting with local friends.
For the first time I walked without any goal and I found new streets and new art galleries I didn’t know before.
The concert You don’t expect
Chatelet metro station for a concert. Bravo!
Paris is a target of terrorism so You find police everywhere. Sometimes Your train is delayed because a bag to check or because it will not depart… even if it is brand new! That lady has an original way to transport her baby…
My first time in Africa and I come in between a turmoil! Nothing to worry about but it has been challenging, at least the first day.
A few hours after my arrival there has been a demonstration with some damages to local banks and shops. Nothing related to politics. You can see a mobile phone shop the day after.
Slums and development
I have not a lot of time to write about this fantastic trip but You are welcome to ask me anything in front a drink next time we will meet! It is weird to notice slums nearby a billboard promoting mobile internet access. Third world and first world together.
Food and hospitality
I felt like home. Tasting food, delicious mint tea, even cheap! I have to come back soon.
Tanger culture is a mix of arabic, french and spanish. People speak those three languages most of the time. It has been real fun. Thanks to my local friends, Juanjo, Nadir, Zak!
Not the best season to swim in the ocean. Next time!
Two weekends ago I have been in a lovely event by Ford in Madrid. It was a global event with people coming from Europe and North America to celebrate and test the brand new Ford Focus.
We stayed in Hotel Puerta America, an amazing hotel in the city center of Madrid. This is my view from 11th floor.
We had the opportunity to test the car in a special track. I was fun and interesting at the same time, even if I am not a car expert. You can find more information search the social web with this tag: #FocusGlobalDrive. Test the car when You can: it has a lot of feature that I did not expect.
Ford did its best to organize a wonderful event. Food was at top level.
We were 25 blogger and 40 winners of a Facebook competition. Ford donated 400.000 dollars to 40 charities and more money during a friendly competition during that weekend. Fun and solidarity at the same time. Good point Ford!
Four Italians and we won two awards. Not bad at all!
More information searching for #FocusGlobalDrive in Twitter, Flickr, YouTube, blogs, Facebook and more.
Second time in New York and I could not miss again the most beautiful museums! Thanks to a freezing temperature and a bit of snow I preferred to stay inside and warm: seven museums in six days!
That’s Brooklyn where I lived for a week or two, thanks to Paul and Couchsurfing.
You can always find something amazing and something crazy!
I love Rousseau and his dreams
Amazing building. You cannot take pictures of it so, that’s the only one, sorry.
Thanks to a Facebook comment I discovered it and it was really interesting.
American Museum of Natural History
Full of kids and… dinosaurs!
Museum of Art and Design
Clifton suggested it to me and it was a wonderful idea. Terrific view from the top floor.
I could not miss one of the most social museum of the world (active on Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Foursquare, blogs and more)
You need at least two days to visit it and I had only a few hours😦
You know, I like to take pics of food. You can find more of them on my Flickr set (link follows)
I have been a couple of days in Montreal to visit friends. Nice view from the train where I had to work (pen and paper… and Kindle!)
To not forget (it is not me)
What a start! 2011 started really fast and I didn’t stop yet. Yes, I know, I don’t update this blog so much but You can follow me on Twitter or in Facebook if You want to. Don’t forget!
February has been dedicated to travel. I have been in New York for museums, friends and a conference (TOC NY 2011), Montreal for friends, Madrid for a Ford event (search for #focusglobaldrive to know more), Tanger and Paris for friends. Some pics are on Flickr and I’ll blog some of them later today with some comments. In that month two of my most recent books have been sold on every newsstands in Italy as an add-on of Il Sole 24 Ore (first economical newspaper in Italy). They sold more or less 8-10.000 copies in two weeks!
March started fast too. I opened a new startup company (Web & Media Life, work in progres…) and I went to a ebook conference (Ebook Lab Italia #ebooklab) last week. Next one I’ll go back to Austin, USA for SXSW as a speaker for Italy Tech Summit panel (!!). More events are coming at the end of the month. I’ll also write many articles for Nova (Il Sole 24 Ore), Tekneco and Wired.it. I would like to work for a new book but I have not a lot of time to do it.
Yesterday I did an interview live on national tv in Italy (Raidue). You can watch me again on YouTube (Italian, sorry)
